When I started at Western in 2001 I was filled with excitement...I was coming home! Growing up in Seattle I'd visited Bellingham as a child because my great uncle, Edward Arntzen (Arntzen Hall), taught here; little did I imagine then what was in store for me. What has been inspirational and exciting beyond words is the opportunity to work with one of the finest group of students, and with the best colleagues one could imagine, and to be involved with such a fine university filled with outstanding people.

What an unbelievable yet exciting time in the history of this nation and the international economies. We may never see the volatility, nor the market opportunities of this magnitude presented again in our lifetimes. WWU and CBE are not only perfectly positioned to a number of the World Class Firms here in the PNW, but are also strategically located near our largest trading partners to the north and global economic partners within the Pacific Rim. I am honored to have been nominated by the International Business division of CBE and chosen as the University's Young Alumnus of the Year.
