GET CONNECTED TO YOUR CBE!

It is with great honor I present the inaugural issue of Connections, the new e-newsletter for the Alumni and friends of Western's College of Business & Economics (CBE) containing the latest news and information from around the University.

I am proud to report that US News and World Report has recently named Western one of its best colleges for 2008/09, building on a similar statement by the Princeton Review which named Western one of its “Best Business Schools” for 2008. In addition, our MBA Program ranked in the top 100 for corporate social responsibility as presented by the Aspen Institute. Our success is a testament to you, our alumni, students, faculty and friends, for paving the way in helping us create an outstanding reputation as a place where teaching and learning are so valued.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Western community for making my first 18 months as the head of the CBE a very memorable experience; since becoming Dean in the Fall of 2007, I have immersed myself in the culture and history of Western’s College of Business & Economics. During this time, my belief that Western is truly one of the finest business schools in the country has been confirmed, and it is my honor to serve as your Dean….my pledge to you in the coming years is to ensure that our future is as bright and rich as our past.

To all our alumni and friends, I reiterate my gratitude for your numerous contributions to the College of Business & Economics…the involvement of people like you in our programs is essential to our future and continued success. We welcome your time with our students, whether it may come in the form of career advising and class lecturing, internships, shadowing or interviewing for full-time positions.
