New Professor Introduction
Ed Love, Western’s newest addition to the Marketing faculty fits right in, on his official interview he and Dr. T.J. Olney made a quick stop to pick mushrooms from under a tree as they walked through campus. “After that, I knew this was the right place for me,” said Dr. Love. Citing quality interactions with students as a trait that drew him to Western, Ed Love wanted to be at a university where he would be given the chance to make an impact both as a teacher and a researcher. He has a great love for his work explaining, “My very favorite part about WWU so far is the teaching, it’s more work than I expected but I have loved every minute of it. The students here at Western show so much enthusiasm for knowledge.” Dr. Love’s classes consist primarily of junior and senior level courses focused on Marketing Strategy and Product Innovation. As a fun weekend activity, he enjoys making and throwing his own boomerangs following his retirement from team competitions while at Evergreen C.C. Dr. Love received his PhD in Marketing from the University of Washington and joined Western in June of 2008.
