You are invited to participate in the

 

IWAM PRE-CONFERENCE TEACHING EXCHANGE

 

Sunday, July 7, 3-5 p.m.

 

All IWAM participants are invited to join in the pre-conference Teaching Exchange.  This session is an opportunity to discuss teaching practices, ideas, and dilemmas, and to share experiences and insights with colleagues who teach courses in the same subject areas.  The session will take place Sunday afternoon, July 7, from 3 – 5 p.m., ending 1/2 hour before the opening session of the conference.

 

Roundtable discussions are planned for the following subject areas:

 

è     Human Resources Management

è     On-line Teaching Applications

è     Strategic Management

Facilitator:                 Mingfang Li, California State University, Northridge, USA

Facilitator:                 Gita Surie, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA

 

 

Participation in the Teaching Exchange is easy.

All you need to do is:

 

1.      Register for the Teaching Exchange**:

·    just answer “YES” on your Conference Registration Form where it asks if you “plan to attend the Teaching Exchange”;  AND,

·    send your name, affiliation, and roundtable preference from the list above to:   margaret.phillips@pepperdine.edu.

 

2.      Bring to share about 10 copies of a 1 or 2 page description of a particularly successful exercise or assignment you use in your courses or training programs.

 

3.      Plan to briefly:

·    introduce your exercise/assignment;

·    describe how it helps you meet specific course objectives;

·    identify any dilemmas or areas you still grapple with in its presentation and use.

 

4.      Respond to your colleagues’ contributions at the Roundtable with helpful comments, questions, and suggestions.

 

From this collaborative exchange, we expect you'll end up with:

*            some new ideas for your classes

*            feedback to improve your own contribution

*            some new additions to your international network of colleagues.
