Dr. Wilhelm received her BA in Psychology and French from Tufts University and the University of Geneva, Switzerland, in 1974. She graduated from Cornell University in 1976 with an MBA (Marketing) and worked as a product manager at Gillette Co. and Armour-Dial before moving to the advertising agency side of the business as an Account Executive with Wells, Riche, Greene (client: Proctor & Gamble). Ms. Wilhelm subsequently went back to school at the University of Washington, receiving her Ph.D. in Marketing and Psychology in 1987. She has been on the Marketing faculty in the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University since 1986. Her teaching and research interests include advertising effects, consumer behavior, and green marketing. She is currently studying how deregulation in the electric utility industry will affect consumers’ choice of energy source (renewable versus nonrenewable). Dr. Wilhelm resides in Acme, WA with her husband, Dave, and two children aged 10 and 14. |
