US Inflation |
The
link to the left shows yearly inflation for the US. in all
sectors. CEBR calculates a local price index. However, the
local price index should not be used as a measure of inflation for
contracts, adjusting income, or similar tasks. Such tasks require a
more broad-based measure of inflation. The consumer price
index (CPI) or the producer price index (PPI) would be a better measure
in such instances. Please contact CEBR for more information
regarding the local price index. Broad measures of price changes and/or inflation can be found on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics web page. To access the data, use the following link: Bureau of Labor and Statisitics On the Bureau of Labor Statistics web site there are several options for inflation and consumer spending data. If you select the "consumer price index" option and then the "get detailed statistics" option, you can select the geographic area of interest and time period of interest. |
