DESCRIPTION AND OVERALL MISSION
 

The primary mission of CEBR is to establish the College of Business and Economics at WWU as a recognized leader in analyzing business conditions, providing economic forecasts, and being the primary resource center for the business and economic development communities in Washington State.

Related goals and activities include:

  • Making academic research in business and economics more accessible to business and community leaders;
  • Econometric model building and dissemination of regional economic forecasts;
  • Economic database management and interpretation
  • Coordinated research and outreach with organizations in Lower Mainland British Columbia

CEBR is a member of the national Association for University Business and Economic Research (AUBER).

CEBR works closely with other institutes and centers at the university – such as the Border Policy Research Institute (BPRI) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) – as well as chambers of commerce, economic development associations, and community service organizations in the region. CEBR also works closely with other state organizations such as the Washington Employment Security Department and national organizations such as the US Bureau of Economic Analysis.

CEBR publishes annually the Northwest Journal of Business and Economics.
