Registering for 300 and 400 level Classes

  1. If you are currently enrolled or just finished the last of your seven business foundation courses, you may need to notify the CBE office (PH 419), so that they can remove restrictions from your registration, or
  2. If a class is full, please continue using the web, spaces may open up as students are continually changing schedules through Phase II of registration. Also, department's maintain waiting list for students who wish to get into the class. You may contact the administrative assistant to see if it is possible to get permission to enroll in the class. (This is not always possible.)
  3. If there is space in the class but the system will not let you register, contact the administrative assistant. Please check first to be sure you have completed all prerequisites.

Registration for upper (300 & 400) level classes is restricted to business majors. If you feel that you have a special situation and have all of the prerequisites for the course, you may contact the department to see if it is possible to get special permission to enroll in the class. If you are approved by the department chair to register for the course, you will be given an "Override Approval" rather than an "Add Code." (Add Codes no longer exist.) After the Departmental Assistant processes the "Override Approval" you must still register for the class. (The Override Approval" only gives you permission to register – it does not register you for the class.)

Courses available to pre-majors

Many of the 300 level business core classes are open to all WWU students. These courses are: DSCI 305, ECON 309, FIN 341, MGMT 311, MIS 320, MKTG 380 and OPS 360. You may register for these classes if you have taken any required prerequisites for them.

Space availability

The heaviest demand for classes is during the hours from 10am to 2pm. Classes offered at other times often have space. Consider enrolling for an earlier or later class. If a class is full, please continue checking the status on the web. Spaces may open up as students are continually changing schedules through Phase II of registration.

Registration Appointment

Your registration appointment is the earliest time you are allowed to register.  You can still register anytime after your appointment time as long as registration is still open to other students.

Applying for Graduation

When to apply for graduation

The general rule is: apply for graduation at least two quarters prior to your final quarter. For example, if you're graduating at the end of Spring Quarter, you'll need to apply for graduation during Fall Quarter. Plan to do your major evaluation as early as possible during the quarter, well in advance of registration. See information below about how to apply for graduation.

What if I'm not sure about the quarter I'll be graduating?

Go ahead and follow the process described below for a major evaluation, --"How do I apply for graduation?" We will evaluate your transcript(s) and determine the coursework you have remaining for completion of your degree. We'll then be able to help you determine your quarter of graduation. You may also wish to review Graduation Requirements for the Baccalaureate Degree.

How do I apply for graduation?

  1. Complete a Major Evaluation Form for the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (available outside the door of Parks Hall 343), indicating whether the course is "C", Completed or "R", Remaining. Remember that you must have no grade lower than a C- in any course required for the major.
  2. The Administrative Assistant for the DSci Department  does all of the major evaluations. Deliver the following to Parks Hall 343:

    • the Major Evaluation Form
    • an unofficial WWU transcript

  3. Allow a week for the Administrative Assistant to complete your major evaluation, then pick it up in Parks Hall 343.
  4. Turn in your major evaluation, along with Degree Application packet, to the Registrar's Office.

Please note that the Registrar's Office no longer has Degree Applications or Degree Reapplications available for pick-up. They are now available online.

Go to the Registrar's Office homepage at: http://www.wwu.edu/depts/registrar

  1. Under Credit Evaluation (Undergraduate) in the left-hand column, click on Degree Application.

  2. Click on Degree Application Form. If you have already submitted the Degree Application and are changing your quarter of graduation, click on Reapplication Form.

  3. Complete the form online. Print the form and return it to the Registrar's Office with the required documentation.
