Getting Started - Evening MBA Program

Below is a schedule for this year's orientation, beginning seminar, and class schedule.

Class Schedule

The 2010 class schedule will be posted when it becomes available. Below is a sample schedule from the current cohort.

Classes begin Tuesday, June 24th and run through August, 21st, 2008.  Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm in Parks Hall 228.

Evening MBA students register for two 4-credit courses each quarter. The class schedule is typically set 6-9 months in advance which will allow for students to plan to personal schedules accordingly. Please register for both of these courses for summer quarter 2008:

Registering for Classes

Register for these courses online with this link Web registration.You will first need to activate your Universal Account by visiting Academic Technology.

You will never need to compete for a seat in your MBA courses.  The evening classes being offered are specifically for your group.  This means that there is a spot being held for you, and all you will need to do is register by the specific deadline that has been established by the Registrar's Office.

  Registration Process

  1. Open your Universal Online Western Account at Academic Technology.

  2. Search Classfinder for your classes during the Summer 2008 term, and record the CRN (course record number).

  3. Set up your Web Registration userid and password.  Your userid is your student identification number (W#) and your initial PIN number is the first six digits of your Social Security Number.  See the web registration site for further information on registration online.  Refer to the PIN FAQ if you do not have a Social Security Number or have other questions.

  4. Login to the online registration system, Web4U, select the Student Services & Financial Aid tab, then select the Registration tab and the Add/Drop Classes link.  Select the term you are registering for and enter the CRN for MBA 510a.  You will use a different UserId, your Western ID #, and password than your Univeral Online Western Account.  You will need to define a password the first time you log on to Web4U.

  5. Check the Registrars Office website for important dates for the coming academic year.

  6. Check the Summer Session website for important dates and tuition information for this summer.  Please note that the Summer Session tuition is different than the regular academic year tuition.

Class Materials

Books
Please visit the Western Associated Students Bookstore were you can find the required books and case studies for your classes.  The Western Bookstore lists your books by class and includes the ISBN and author information.  You may then purchase your books online or in-person through the bookstore or from another source.  Please check back to the bookstore site regularly as books may be added up until the day classes begin.

The Western Bookstore is a Non-Profit Co-Op which provides monetary support for student activities, scholarships etc and is a major source of fudning for the Associated Students of Western Washington University.

MBA 2008-2009 Academic Year Schedule



Many MBA classes use Blackboard, an easy-to-use online course management system used by approximately half the courses offered at Western each term.  While not all of your MBA courses will use Blackboard, a significant number may.
