Further Financial Aid Information

To explore aditional financial aid options, please visit Western’s Graduate Student Financial Aid Information Website or, for Graduate Student Scholarships visit the WWU Graduate Student Scholarship Center.

To be eligible for financial aid, you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Tips for filling out the FAFSA can be found at Western's FAFSA Tips website

The FAFSA must be filled out annually for each adademic year; Fall through Summer quarters.  For students beginning classes in the Summer two FAFSA applications must be filled out, one for the current academic year, 2007-2008, and one for the 2008-2009 academic year.

For Evening & Accelerated MBA classes, which begin in the Summer quarter, you will need to fill out the FAFSA for the current academic year along with the Application for Summer Financial Aid.  You can find information on this application and other resources at the Summer Quarter Financial Aid Resource Site.

Are you planning to borrow to help finance your education? If so, file your FAFSA first before considering a private alternative loan. Federal student loans typically offer borrowers better terms than private alternative loans. These terms may include lower interest rates, income-based repayment plans, and loan forgiveness and deferment options.  Find more information on the process here.
