Careers
Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management graduates work in a wide variety
of positions in the manufacturing and supply chain operation of leading
Northwest companies.
Brian Shelver, class of '95
Brain took a position with Boston Scientific as an Operations Analyst upon graduation. Brian's duties focused on solving problems and looking for improvements in the manufacturing of the facility's
flagship product. Shortly thereafter, Brian moved into the Master Scheduler position, where he was responsible for scheduling production throughout the facility. While Master Scheduler, Brian was a key player in the implementation
of a new planning system, which led to his joining SAP America as an Applications Consultant.
Ken Durland, class of '99 Ken was part of a team that
conducted a scheduling and lead-time reduction project for the Mount
Baker Plywood Company. The project, a part of the senior-level Manufacturing
Management Seminar, required Ken and his teammates to gain a comprehensive
understanding of Mount Baker's manufacturing processes and apply their
classroom knowledge to reach a workable solution. Mount Baker Plywood
clearly liked the recommendations, for shortly afterwards Ken was
hired on as the Lean Manufacturing Manager for the company. In the
first few months on the job, Ken was able to reduce inventory and
lead time dramatically. |
